President of the Athletic Federation of Nigeria, Solomon Ogba, on Tuesday unveiled the Local Organising Committee, for the maiden edition of the Access Bank Lagos International Marathon. In a statement signed by the AFN Head of Media, Olukayode Thomas, Mr. Deji Tinubu was named as the LOC chairman, while former Team Nigeria Captain, Yussuf Alli, will serve as the General Manager Marathon. Other members of the LOC charged with the duty of organising the first full marathon race in Nigeria also include Olumide Bamiduro who will serve as secretary.

Nilayo Sports Management Limited is the consultant while Thomas is the head of Media and Communication. To organise a flawless event that will meet international standards, Thomas explained that the LOC would also have representatives from The Lagos State Police Command, Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, Access Bank Branding Division and The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency. Also included in the LOC are Commodore Omatseye Niesiama, Ebidowe Owiegei, Prof. Tunde Makanju and Tayo Popoola.
