International soft drinks giant, producer of soft drinks and table water, Seven-Up Bottling Company, has officially joined the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon as the official water of the nation’s number one marathon.

The company’s water, Aquafina, is now the race official water.

Details of the sponsorship deal worth about N100 million annually in cash and kind will be unveiled at a media parley to hold soon.

Bukola Olopade, Lagos Marathon consultant, told the media that apart from sponsorship in cash and kind, two Pepsi brand ambassadors will also perform on the marathon day.

Olopade revealed that the deal is for three years initially, with the first right of refusal to Seven-Up Bottling Company.

Olopade said the next edition of the marathon will take place on February 11, 2017.

He urged Corporate Nigeria to take advantage of the event which is already the most talked about marathon in Africa after its first edition,

“In the last few months we have received enquiries from both individuals and corporate citizens from different parts of the world about the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

“The success of the marathon, the first full international marathon in Nigeria in 31 years is a thing of pride for all Nigerians. We need the support of all Nigerians, especially corporate citizens to emulate Seven-Up and join hands with Lagos State Government, Athletics Federation of Nigeria and title sponsor, Access Bank, to make the Lagos City Marathon among the top five in the world in the next few years.’’
